COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COMPUTER ELECTROACUPUNCTURE IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA AND CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE LUNG DISEASE

The authors carried out a prospective, controlled, randomized research involving 120 patients (60 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) – group I and 60 patients with bronchial asthma (BA) – group II). Each group was randomized into equal subgroups «1» and «2». Patients of subgroups «1» were treated by computer electroacupuncture (CEAP). Results showed that the treatment by CEAP of patients with BA was effective during both the exacerbation and the remission of the disease; the patients with COPD – just during exacerbation of the disease. The aftereffect of CEAP clinical efficacy was observed only in the group with BA.
